New ophthalmic solutions for UK Surgeons through Sidapharm and Micromed partnership
Spectrum is pleased to announce a new UK distribution agreement with Sidapharm. The partnership covers Sidapharm’s ophthalmic medical devices and Micromed ophthalmic gases and silicone oils.
By combining Sidapharm’s and Micromed’s portfolios under the Spectrum umbrella, ophthalmic professionals across the UK gain access to a broader selection of high‑quality products for both anterior and posterior segment surgery.
Broader choice in retinal tamponades
Through this agreement, Spectrum now supplies Micromed’s established range of retinal tamponades, including:
- PDMS silicone oils in multiple viscosities and formats to support long‑term intraocular tamponade after vitrectomy.
- PFCL perfluorocarbon liquids for intraoperative retinal stabilisation and re‑attachment.
- MICROGAS intraocular gases (SF₆, C₂F₆ and C₃F₈) in pure and nitrogen‑mixed versions, with short‑, medium‑ and long‑acting tamponade options.
These products provide surgeons with greater flexibility to tailor tamponade choice to each patient and procedure.
Sidapharm ophthalmic solutions
The agreement also strengthens Spectrum’s anterior segment offering with Sidapharm’s:
- SBlue Trypan Blue 0.06% – for clear, controlled capsule staining, available in 1 ml vials and 1 ml pre‑filled syringes with ophthalmic cannula included.
- Balanced Salt Solution (BSS) – a sterile physiological irrigating solution formulated to maintain tissue integrity during a wide range of ophthalmic procedures.
