Medicontur Bi-Flex ELON Toric

To create minimal optical disturbances, Medicontur developed Wavefront Linking, a non-diffractive technology for a wide range of vision. This proprietary technology is based on a series of central concentric refractive zones varying in curvature and linked by specially designed linking zones.

Wavefront Linking distributes light energy continuously along the optical axis. Connected focal points result in a singular ELONgated focus, useful across the entire range of vision. With no diffractive rings, Wavefront Linking technology lowers the risk of visual disturbances compared to diffractive EDoF solutions on the market.

Central concentric refractive zones varying in curvature linked by specially designed linking zones. Continuous light energy is distributed along the optical axis with connected focal points, delivering singular elongated focus across the entire range of vision.

The ELON lens is equipped with the proprietary Bi-Flex design for long-term stability and centration. The large contact angle between the lens haptics and the capsular bag wall ensures long-term stability and visual comfort.

SEMTE hydrophobic copolymer material, ensuring high uveal biocompatibility and low levels of glistening.

The Medicontur Bi-Flex ELON lens provides excellent contrast sensitivity along the whole defocus range.

Patients can lead an active lifestyle independent of spectacles. ELON delivers high-quality vision for far and intermediate distances. Glasses may be required for near vision.

Preliminary clinical experience suggests that Medicontur Bi-Flex ELON can be used in presbyopia correction in patients with mild ocular pathologies or previous ocular surgeries.

Wavefront Linking causes light energy to be distributed continuously along the optical axis. The focal points are connected, resulting in a singular elongated focus that is useful across the entire range of vision.

Wavefront Linking enables a more flexible modification of light energy distribution that results in higher intermediate light intensity and a wider range of functional vision. Because it contains no diffractive rings, Wavefront Linking lowers the risk of visual disturbances compared to diffractive EDoF solutions.

ELON gives surgeons the opportunity to minimise even mild photic phenomena while providing better intermediate and near vision compared to monofocal IOLs.

This ELON EDoF IOL is an optimal choice for patients who live an active lifestyle and would like to improve their visual quality but would not mind occasionally wearing spectacles for close-up activities.
